The official opening of Boston Pioneers Free School Academy took place on 5th January 2015.
The state-of-the-art Academy delivered by The McAvoy Group boasts a four dimensional room to help with children’s education and has been praised by the school’s principal Jo Bland. She said, “It was amazing how quickly the building was erected and fitted out – it just seemed to pop up one day. McAvoy’s commitment to the school and attention to detail was something else.”
The opening of the school was celebrated by pupils, teachers and guest speakers including MP Mark Simmonds, Kevin Ahern from the Department for Education and the mayor of Boston Alison Austin.
Mayor Alison Austin who officially opened the school said, “Behind this special moment is something looking to youngster’s futures.”
As reported in the Boston Target, Jo Bland, principal said, “I can’t quite believe it is here, it is the most amazing day. A lot of people were involved with it and they have spent time over Christmas to make sure today happened.”
The school currently has 120 reception and year one pupils, with the number expected to grow to 420 by 2019.
