The McAvoy Group will be attending the official launch of The Offsite Management School on Tuesday 24th March 2015 at The Crystal, London. The Offsite Management School is being developed to support the construction sector in learning advanced techniques and management skills that will help meet the challenges set out by the UK Construction Strategy for 2025 – to construct infrastructure, buildings and homes that use 50% less CO2, are delivered in half the time and will cost 33% less to construct and operate over their lifetime.
The School is an initiative of Skanska, Laing O’Rourke, Carillion, Siemens and Costain working in collaboration with knowledge organisations such as Build Offsite, BRE, Total Flow and Exelin to develop an online learning environment that will help suppliers to understand more about offsite building techniques and the implications that a move to modular and volumetric construction will have on design processes, logistics, onsite process and long term asset maintenance.
