McAvoy has completed the acquisition of Maccom in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, which is one of the Republic’s biggest providers of modular buildings. Maccom was formed in 1996 as a joint venture between McAvoy Group and the then Accom company of Balbriggan, and had developed a broad customer base including the Department of Education and Skills in Dublin.
The acquisition of the assets and business of Maccom sees the Balbriggan company trading in the Republic under the McAvoy identity. McAvoy business development director Orla Corr said: “This acquisition of Maccom is an immensely important initiative, which will bring extensive benefits to existing and potential customers throughout the Republic. We will be offering customers our design-based solution to their building requirements. McAvoy has developed an extremely strong brand and reputation as a developer of smart building solutions that meet the specific accommodation requirements of individual customers using the latest off-site manufacturing technologies. The Acquisition is designed to eliminate any possible market confusion and means customers are dealing directly with McAvoy Think Smart: Build Smart.
The existing senior management at Balbriggan is remaining in place so customers are able to continue to deal with experienced personnel here.
