The McAvoy Group was delighted to sponsor the latest Northern Ireland Safety Group monthly meeting, titled ‘Controlling exposures to prevent occupational lung disease.’
The free seminar, organised by Northern Ireland Safety Group and the British Occupational Hygiene Society, took place on 21st (Antrim) and 22nd August (Craigavon), and was essential for those responsible for managing workplace health risks.
Occupational lung disease can occur in most industry sectors and is caused by a wide range of agents, from biological organisms through to dusts, fumes and vapours.

Speakers at the event included Susan Spence from HSENI, Mike Slater, Occupational Hygienist and former President of the British Occupational Hygiene Society, and Kevin Williams, Respiratory Services Manager at ARCO.
Both seminar days were very well attended.
