The Bromfords School

Project Summary

McAvoy efficiently manufactured 42 SmartClass modules at its 70,000sqft, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, with a signification proportion of the work being completed offsite. All 42 modules were installed over the course of 5 days.

The SmartClass facility, comprising 6 classrooms, 2 offices, shower & changing rooms and WC’s on the ground floor, along with an additional 8 calassrooms and 3 offices on the second floor, was designed to meet the educational needs of the students.

 

Hockley Primary School

Facility: SmartClass® Temporary School

Installation to Completion: Phase 1 – 10 weeks, Phase 2 – 16 weeks

Rental Period: 104 weeks

Project summary

To ensure the school could reopen and welcome back its pupils, it was essential that the school was operational as quickly as possible.

The first building, which features 7 classrooms as well as WCs to accommodate the older children in the school, was delivered within 10 weeks, allowing the school to reopen before Christmas. The second building, which features 5 additional classrooms for early years, a dining room, kitchen, offices, and a staff area was completed 6 weeks later.

 

Parks Primary School

Facility: SmartClass® Temporary School

Installation to completion: 17 weeks

Rental Period: 156 weeks

Project summary

McAvoy delivered 73 SmartClass® modules within just 17 weeks from installation of the first module.

The temporary school has provided 459 places for early years, nursery, and primary school pupils, and features 17 classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, and office accommodation.

McAvoy also undertook groundworks, landscaping, highway works and utility applications and connections.

 

Kingsdown Primary School

Facility: SmartClass® Temporary SEND classrooms and QSpace Staff room

Installation to Completion: 4 weeks

Rental Period: 104 weeks

Project summary

The project featured three classrooms and an accessible toilet as well as 2no. QSpace units for use as an office and staff room. The entire project was successfully completed within 4 weeks from installation of the first module.

One standout aspect was the installation of a hoist system, showcasing McAvoy’s commitment to providing essential facilities for the safety of all pupils and staff. This system aids children with mobility impairments, ensuring accessibility for all within the classroom facility.
