McAvoy is delivering a new state-of-the-art school for Orsett Heath Academy, a project commissioned by the Department for Education (DfE) and South West Essex Community Education Trust. Located in Grays, Essex, the development of the new school has reached an important milestone – topping out at three storeys following the installation of 209 modules.
McAvoy welcomed representatives from the DfE and South West Essex Community Education Trust and Atkins Realis, as well as students and staff from Orsett Heath Academy for a tour of the site followed by the presentation of commemorative awards to mark the occasion.
Attendees were given the opportunity to see the latest progress on site, with a tour across all three storeys, including the sports hall, science lab, drama hall, double-height dining hall, classrooms, and office areas.
Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2024, the new 1,200-pupil school spans 8,610m2 and will provide high-quality education for students aged 11-16. The secondary school is set to showcase innovative internal design and serve as a beacon of learning, growth, and inspiration for its students.
