A student site visit took place at Meridian Angel Primary School, Edmonton on 17 October 2016 as part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS). 40 students and teachers visited the site to learn about the offsite construction process and watched a 150 tonne crane lift air handling units onto the new school. The students got to see how the crane worked as they watched from a specially constructed viewing gallery and learned how the radios are used to communicate with the crane driver.
Many McAvoy projects are and have been registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme with many receiving a ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ rating. The CCS recognises that if all construction sites and companies presented an image of competent management, efficiency, awareness of environmental issues and above all neighbourliness, then they would become a positive advertisement, not just for themselves but for the industry as a whole.
